We got burned by a vendor. So we built our own virtual office. Here's the full story behind WiLine 2gether.
Over the last few years, WiLine has quietly morphed from a pure high-speed internet service provider into a robust cloud infrastructure and agile software development powerhouse. Today, we operate extensive private and public cloud fabrics and engineer complex collaboration and communication stacks, and SD-WAN/SASE.
But behind the scenes, we faced the exact same structural challenge that many modern companies face today: managing a highly distributed, rapidly growing team of remote desk workers and hands-on field technical staff spread across domestic boundaries and international time zones.
As our teams grew, we noticed that traditional collaboration tools left a massive gap. Text chat felt cold, and constant calendar invites created "Zoom fatigue."
We turned to the emerging "virtual office" market to find a solution. While the concepts were promising, we continuously hit friction points: missing mobile clients, critical stability or scaling bottlenecks, and worst of all, unpredictable vendor pricing structures - including one platform change that slapped us with a 4x overnight licensing cost increase.
We realized we were uniquely positioned to solve this problem permanently. We already owned and operated our own low-latency cloud infrastructure. We possessed an advanced internet communication backbone capable of handling seamless video, voice, and presence logic. And we had a brilliant team of internal software developers - many of whom happen to be avid gamers intimately familiar with spatial mapping, real-time networking, and rendering workflows.
So, we built our own virtual office.
In January 2026, we migrated our entire global workforce onto the initial version of our custom virtual office platform. The transformation was instant. It has integrated directly into our internal digital DNA - it is the very first application we sign into in the morning, and it is the visual ecosystem where hundreds of our employees "live" throughout the entire workday.
The features we engineered solved the isolation of remote work by bringing back the serendipity of a real workspace:
Having thoroughly road-tested and refined this platform internally with several hundred active users, we are incredibly excited to release our virtual office to the public as a fast, secure SaaS offering running directly on top of our newly launched WiLine Edge Cloud (WEC) platform.
We call it WiLine 2gether.
Starting today, you can bring your remote or hybrid teams closer together. Our model is built on transparency, simplicity, and flexibility:
For technical deployment details and user guides, visit our central documentation clearinghouse at 2gether-docs.wiline.com. Technical support is accessible natively through integrated, online features directly inside the application.
This launch is just the baseline foundation. Our product roadmap for the coming months is packed with critical enterprise features currently undergoing internal staging, including:
Stop managing your remote team out of cold text streams and disjointed calendar invites. Bring your company culture back 2gether.
