Challenges

Marquis’ day-to-day operations rely on constant communication within their employee network, and outward to resellers and customers. Similar to many multi-site businesses, Marquis utilizes video conferencing, VoIP calls and an array of hosted applications (i.e. mail server, voicemail, etc.) to communicate effectively. All of these high bandwidth applications are vital to Marquis’ business and depend on uninterrupted connectivity.

Prior the WiLine Solution, Marquis was utilizing a variety of internet links that differed at each location and were not consolidated into a fully meshed wide area network. The ability to communicate, both internally and externally, depended entirely on the signal strength and reliability at each secular office. This set up, however, did not fully support Marquis’ communication needs. Plagued by dropped calls and outages, Marquis called on WiLine to develop a solution that would address their networking issues.

Solution

WiLine Diversity and Cloud WAN Service, not only mediated all of Marquis’ known network issues, but also alleviated the need for extra IT resources.

The on-site device at each of Marquis’ locations, performs optimization and aggregation to the available internet links and drastically improves the quality of VoIP and video conferences. In the event of an outage or drop in performance, the ‘active-active’ feature of the on-site device automatically routes traffic on a per-packet basis to the optimal link, ensuring that employees do not experience a drop in quality. To further support Marquis’ critical applications, employees are now able to utilize the point-and-click interface of the Orchestrator to establish business policies that prioritize video conferencing, VoIP calls and mail server traffic. With nearly instant wide area networking capabilities, the on-site devices automatically created a full mesh WAN secured by a Layer 7 Stateful Firewall within seconds after deployment. The comprehensive nature of WiLine Diversity and Cloud WAN Service mediated the known issues and migrated Marquis Corp’s network to a fully functioning WAN.

Our latest project with WiLine has helped stabilize our internet network connection. Before we had two circuits – a primary and a backup – which would require me to step in and have to change configurations if our primary link went down. Email would have problems with the secondary circuit. And we’d have tons of problems with reliable video conferencing. VPN’s would fail and our remote users and retail stores lost access.

However, all those problems have simply gone away. WiLine has combined the circuits creating a redundant singular connection that requires no additional configuration.
